6 tips for when your feeling overwhlemed

1). You’ve felt this way before

You have probably felt this way before and you also overcame it. Think about how you dealt with it before. Try to learn from your past experiences. Do what you know has worked for you. Put yourself in an environment that you feel comfortable and take as long as you need to remember previous times in your life you felt this way and how you overcame it.

2). Be grateful for what you do have

3). Go for a Walk

Walking can make it harder for your mind and body to be as overwhelmed. When you walk, you will be distracted taking in new information. Walking also helps move blood around your body, and is a good tool for controlling your breathing and heart rate.

4). Take charge of the situation

Take action, Rather than feeling victimized and helpless, do something to change the situation. Recognise the things that are realistic to change and try do something to prevent them happening again.

5). Try to let it go

When we’re overwhelmed it can sometimes be because we’re attached to something. By letting go of the thoughts or situation that you’re attached to and simply just deal with the moment, things would become easier. Letting go is something that’s within our power.

6). Write it down

When your thoughts are too overwhelming, try writing the thoughts down. Your mind may relax about the thoughts because they're now down on paper and out of your head. So if thoughts are overwhelming you, try writing them down to get some relief.
