10 tips to make Healthy Eating Sustainable
-
Pick foods that you actually enjoy eating- I remember when I would make myself a ‘healthy lunch’. I would make a salad with veg and add maybe a source of protein and no dressing or flavourings. I would even put celery in it which I ABSOLOUTELY hate and the idea of eating the ‘salad’ would actually make my stomach turn. So that’s why it’s important to pick foods which you like the taste of as it will be more appealing to eat.
-
Have a good breakfast every morning- I actually cannot emphasize how important it is to have a good breakfast. I literally don’t function until I have my bowl of oats into me.
-
Learning to cook- For me personally this was a huge thing. When I began to put time into making the food I eat, I really began to work out my tastes and appreciation for the food.
-
Start small- The only reason I am able to maintain the habits I have developed is because, when I began to make changes I only made one small change each week. I accepted the fact that I was going to mess up because I am human. Most importantly when I did mess up I learned not to be hard on myself.
-
Stay Hydrated- Get yo fluids in. Im a divil for this. This for me is something that is still in progress

HERBS AND SPICES- This is something that is so important to me. Hahaha omg I actually am so sad like how can spices be that important to someone. But the can completely transform the taste of a meal and I just love experimenting, with them.
-
Stay Realistic- Some nights you may want to have a pizza night with the girls, or you may just need to plough into that kebab after a night out. These things are inevitable and balance is the key to maintaining habits.
